To our dearest ladies like me out there who have issues with staying warm.
As you may know if you’ve ever been in earshot of me and my broken record of talking about it, I have, historically been freezing constantly for the last few years. This has been an issue in the summer (admittedly British summer), not to mention the autumn, winter and spring.
This year I made an amazing discovery with one of our favourite designers, Ness.
Firstly, and most importantly, they never ever cut corners with their fabrics. They weave, layer and line their outer wear like no one I’ve ever seen.
I’d like to talk you through the three pieces I’ve adopted into my wardrobe:
The Coco
This is the cutest ever cropped jacket by Ness for this Winter season:
They’ve paired a woven wool outer layer, with hints of silver in the green, over another layer of proper Scottish wool, AND THEN they’ve lined it with the cutest strawberry satin. They are tightly tailored so they make you look like you have great posture as a bonus, and the piping on the edges is just adorable and so Coco Chanel it hurts.
Ladies, these jackets are WARM. I mean really roasty toasty warm. And they look amazing and also critically for all you capsule-wardrobe devotees out there: they are totally pan-seasonal!
The Laura
Then there are the Laura jackets (great name if I do say so myself!). Luxuriously thick wool with a velvet collar, over evergreen patterned lining. The quality is exceptional and again. ROASTY TOASTY!
The Matilda
And lastly, the elegant swing coat ‘Matilda’. This is an amazing find. I have literally never owned a coat that I felt was acceptable outerwear for a fancy frock. I usually throw on my drab full-length putty overcoat on top of my gorgeous sparkling frock and get it off and into the cloakroom as quickly as humanly possible. Freezing my tuckus off while I avoid reclaiming my boring coat.
And then I met Matilda.
Plum velvet, rose buttons, a puff collar and wide wrists, this is a coat to pair with a frock. Its lined and layered so warm as anything, but it is elegant. And its changed my party season.
